AUXILIARY REGULAR MEETING SCHEDULE:
2ND THURSDAY OF THE MONTH at 7:30 P.M.
ASSOCIATED VETS CLUB, 305 N. CLEVELAND, LOVELAND CO
August 14th (No Meeting)
September 11th
The meeting time and place for the September 11th meeting will be 5:30 p.m. at 629 Cressa Drive (Loveland) for set up for the 2nd Garage Sale of the Year garage sale will run from Friday September 12 and Saturday September 13th. A sign up sheet will be sent out in a couple of weeks for you to sign up the hours you are able to work. REMEMBER setting up and tearing down is where we need the majority of assistance. The Young Marines will be available to help on Saturday.

July 26th Quarterly Staff Meeting
The next Department Staff is on July 26 in Greeley at 1300 with a D.D. Growl directly after the staff meeting.. Have not heard about lunch yet !! Location is the VFW 2121 -- 2514 7th. AVE, there are several motels and hotel in and nearby. There is a Motel 6 3015 8th. Ave. 970-351-6481 with others just up the road.

Corn Shucking Contest (Friday evening) Ladies of the Auxiliary step up to the table and show your corn shucking abilities. (this was a corn load of fun last year pictures under past activities on this web page)

November/ December -Donations being accepted at the Loveland Associated Vets Club 305 E. Cleveland for the Operation Holiday Joy Project
December 6th (tentative date) for Stocking Stuffing at the Loveland Associated Vets Club

The Loveland Sweetheart Unit continues to stay busy with ongoing projects and activities. The ladies of the Auxiliary are very dedicated and I want each of them to know what an honor it is to work alongside them. REMEMBER if you know someone who may be interested in getting involved with some of our activities bring them to a meeting. The Department of Colorado is going to be having a Recruiting Contest and each new member you recruit will put your name into a bowl and you may be one of the lucky winners in May.

Currently taking donations for Garage Sale to be held in September . For a list of what we need and items that we cannot take, please see Garage Sale Donation Guidelines
Quilts for Wounded Soldiers Our newest member Cindy Miracle has agreed to take on this project. She will be contacting the public about participation in the activity. She will need help sewing the quilts together, so if you sew let her know. cg_miracle@yahoo.com
Northern Colorado will be having a Veterans Stand Down on November 18, 2008. The location is at the Catholic Charities facility located at 460 Linden Center Drive, Fort Collins CO. from 9-3 p.m.
Please put this information into your Newsletters so that we may get the word out to as many veterans in need as possible.
I would also like to ask your assistance with donations of clothing items. Last year the Service Organization and Auxiliaries were very instrumental in this area of need.

June 29th Widows Tea at the Loveland Public Library

Valentine's Day Bash for 2008 was held at Johnson's Corner and there was way too much fun had that night.

The Loveland Sweetheart Unit Valentine Card Project netted approximately 1600 Valentine Cards for the Troops serving in Afganistan an Iraq. Each Card was lovingly stamped with the Loveland Cashe. Not only was the community supportive of this project we also had help from the Loveland Reporter Herald and several schools in the Loveland area. (Tom I believe Dorie or Carole has a picture taken here.
